Cosmic…

Hello lovely people!

Apologies for the quietness around here…I am feeling quite moody lately, and even though I am doing some makeup looks, it’s just a bit blah ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I can’t find a better word to describe my state of mind at the moment, so “blah” will have to do.

The look I would like to show you here is actually from Monday, but my inspiration that day was completely absent so I never finished the blogpost. Let’s try again!

I called the look Cosmic for two reasons: firstly, it was inspired by the names of the pigments I used to create it, Ben Nye’s Cosmic Violet and Cosmic Blue, and secondly, because of “Gravity”. Gravity is the newest movie by Alfonso Cuaron. You may know him as the director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, but to me he will always be the creator of another movie masterpiece…namely, an adaptation of The Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It remains among my most favourite movies of all time…

I will not tell you much more about Gravity than it is a beautiful movie set in space, which is worth a few hours of your life. It has great visuals, a good story, sets the mood right from the beginning and takes you on an engaging trip…I enjoyed absolutely every second of it! I hope you have, or will, too ๐Ÿ™‚

But back to the makeup…apart from the aforementioned reasons, nothing else about this look was really all that space related. Maybe the glitter could be interpreted as stars…

Cosmic Blue is such a wonderfully blue vibrant pigment, and it looks so fabulous on brown eyes. To think that I have used it only once before…shameful really!

I was hesitant whether I wanted to wing a black liner but eventually went for the sparkles instead…maybe deep down I was going for a cosmic look, with stars, after all hehe.

  1. Nice sparkly look, I was allready wondering whole lookin gat the pictures whether you would have considered a dash of eyeliner or pencil, as you dit put a black pencil in the water line. And pull the pink a little bit more to the middle of the eyelid, up to a good 1/3. Like the colour combo!
