Cosmic..take 2

So, after an unproductive couple of days, feeling grumpy and uninspired, today was a pleasant breath of fresh air. I don’t know if the baking did it, or it was the sun outside shining all day…but my desire to create makeup was revived 🙂 Hallelujah!!!

I mentioned the baking…I have told you before that another passion of mine is making desserts. At one point last year (the most stressful last year of my PhD), I was baking cakes every weekend, sometimes also during the week. It became an obsession, my way out of my own head..a world of tastes, textures, colours and intricate new techniques. I loved it! However, me not being much of a sweet tooth, and the only other resident of the house being my hubby…meant that he was constantly stuffed with cakes, pies, muffins, etc. Of course every now and then I brought them to others, but the madness had to stop. So, now I bake less often, only for occasions. This evening, a friend is visiting – an excellent excuse to try a new dessert from my Chocolate Bible recipe book. I made a chocolate cake with cocos cream filling:

Anyhow, afterwards I decided to get on with the makeup. I have not idea why exactly but I felt like I wasn’t really done with the Cosmic look, so I did another take of. I used a lot of the same products, added a few others, but placed most of them in a different manner. Only Cosmic Blue retained its original location on the moving lid.

And now without falsies:

I wanted a lot more glitter in the centre this time, more darkness, and more space for Cosmic Violet to really shine. You can see that despite the common denominator, the name, this look is nothing like its predecessor.

What I used for Cosmic take 2:

  • Essence I love stage e/s base
  • Ben Nye pigment Cosmic Violet
  • Ben Nye pigment Cosmic Blue
  • Ben Nye pigment Sun Yellow
  • Essence colour art pigment Black Sparrow
  • Essence colour art pigment Be my Brightsmaid
  • Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette
  • Essence crystal eyeliner Black Star
  • Essence crystal eyeliner Flashy Aqua
  • Catrice gel liner Black Jack with Goldie Hawn
  • Max Factor kohl pencil black
  • Max Factor Wild Mega Volume volumising mascara

What do you guys think? Which Cosmic look do you like better, take one or take two?

XoXo

  1. Nice, reaaly colourful. But there is something I miss in this look, and it is really simple to add just that extra bit to complete this look. Don’t add the blue sparkle to the pink eyeshadow on the wing, but the most important is a white/shimmery highlighter on the browbone…. Have a try with this and let me know what you think!

    • I do agree about the light colour missing on the brow bone, or it just didn’t come out well on the photo…but I actually do like the blue sparkle in the end of the purple wing 🙂
