News: I am on youtube now!!!

Hi guys,

I finally did it! 20140920_095735Yesterday, I recorded my very first youtube video πŸ™‚ For the longest time I had no clue what I could possibly do on the youtubez, but in the past few months an idea started taking shape and form. For now, I don’t intend to shoot tutorials, but will instead do a series talking about my favourite indie makeup brands. The reason being that 1) Indie is where my heart lies at the moment; 2) Although there are reviews of them on youtube, they are fairly sparse and for some brands, practically non-existent; 3) So, I aim at giving them a tiny bit more exposure, they deserve it!; 4) I was just curious to try the whole youtube experience πŸ™‚

I’d be incredibly happy if you drop by my channel, say hi and subscribe (in case you are interested in up-coming videos, of course). Be kind! This is my first attempt at this, and I am sure there is plenty of room for improvement. I myself hated like 10,000 things about this video…but hey, one has to start somewhere πŸ˜‰

The first episode of my “Indie Brand Diaries” series is dedicated to Concrete Minerals. I hope you enjoy it:

See you next time!

  1. I recently made my first video too (well, you saw it lol) and I know exactly how you feel! I’m a perfectionist and also sometimes not entirely comfortable with myself. It’s weird seeing myself on camera, and I’ve never liked the way I talk, lol. But I try to just stifle all those feelings because I know it doesn’t bother anyone but me. I think it will get better if I make more videos. Then it won’t be so weird. xD I would love to make some little videos talking about my favorite brands, products, looks, etc. I think those are good ways to start making videos to just get comfortable with the camera and familiarize yourself with the whole process. I live with my family and my 2 sisters are always around, so I feel awkward talking to the camera because I’m embarrassed for them to hear me lol. It’s silly! I’m going to try and just do it regardless of who can hear me. I think the awkwardness also goes away after a while, too. Anyway, I’m going to watch your video and I can’t wait to see all the videos you make in the future!! πŸ˜€

    • Thank you for the wonderfully long comment dear! My friends and family had been encouraging me for quite a while to start making videos, but I know myself. Like you, I am a perfectionist and the second I turn on the “record” button, I just freak out, start stuttering, forget about 80% of my English vocabulary, and all that good stuff lol. And also, at the moment, my husband is at home too…in the same room where I am recording, so I make him put on his headphones haha. Nonetheless, I still feel so uncomfortable, just because the damn thing is on and I have to say stuff that makes sense. Another reason I strayed from youtube is I just had no clue what to do there…but the indie brand series is something I am really excited about. I already noticed that my second try feels much more relaxed than the first one. So, I completely agree with you – the awkwardness will fade with time. And it helps me so much that everyone has been so supportive and sweet about it so far! I m prepared for the trolls though lol.
I definitely hope you will make more videos too, you are absolutely adorable, and it translates beyond the camera πŸ™‚ I would be so curious to peek into your large DG collection and hear what your favs are!!!
