Pink with emerald liner

Hello again!

A while ago I saw a look in the idea gallery of the Makeup Geek website, which I really loved. The girl had used a very shimmery pink on her moving lid, and a very shimmery emerald green on her lower lash line. I found the combination of these colours very pretty  and this turned into an inspiration for today’s post.

I used pink on the moving lid, and the Barry M dazzle dust Emerald foiled, as a liner. The lower lash line became purple, and to complete the look I attached false lashes.

This is how it turned out:

I am still absolutely under the spell of Emerald…apparently I have a thing for makeup in an emerald shade because whenever I see one, I am instantly overpowered by a desire to own it. Even if I already have a bunch of pencils, e/s and pigments in emerald, I feel like I can always have one more…For example, I would really like to some day get my hands on the “Mystic” gel liner from Makeup Geek…it’s an emerald gel liner, of course! hahaha

What I used:

  • Essence I love stage e/s base
  • NYX JEP Milk
  • Barry M dazzle dust Candy
  • Barry M dazzle dust Emerald
  • Sleek Snapshots palette
  • MUG e/s Frappe
  • MUG e/s Beaches and cream
  • Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara
  • Eye Candy false lashes #007

Do you also like the way pink, purple and emerald green play together?

Lilac with gold eyeliner

On to the second gold-inspired look for the day 🙂

This gold however, is not green, antique or you name it…it is Vintage! Oh yes, Sleek eye dust Vintage. Another gorgeous pigment from Sleek which this time around I used as a liner, wet.

You probably already knew that but pigments (and eyeshadows for that matter) tend to look even more fabulous when applied wet because the vibrancy of the colours stands out better. This technique is called “foiling” and can be achieved by using either a special mixing medium, or, if you don’t happen to have that (like me!), H2O – also known as water :P.

What I do is just wet the bursh a bit (damp, not soaking with water), mix it with a bit of the pigment in the cap, and apply. By the way, I would not do this with e/s…water may damage your eyeshadow! For foiling e/s I’d rather take some product out of the pan before using the wet brush… or just get a mixing medium.

I did a Lilac Gold look, not so dark but still a bit glamorous because of the Vintage eyeliner.

There’s a bit of pink too :)…I could name this look Golden Candy..or something..

Anyhow, I used:

  • Essence I love stage e/s base
  • NYX JEP Milk (thin layer as a base)
  • Barry M dazzle dust Candy
  • Sleek Snapshots palette
  • MUG e/s Chickadee
  • Sleek eye dust Vintage
  • Essence long lasting eye pencil #15 Bling Bling
  • Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara

I hope you liked today’s makeup looks and I would be happy to receive your comments/suggestions/inquiries/….. on those 🙂

Till next time!

Green Gold makeup look with Sleek, Barry M and Essence pigments

Hello!

I had an inspiration today to do a bit more with gold…so both of my posts for the day will have a gold touch to them 🙂 So, if you are a gold fan, read up =>

A while ago, I showed you the swatches of some Barry M and Sleek pigments that I have…I have done a couple of looks with some of them in the meantime, but so far none have featured the Green Gold Barry M dazzle dust…?!?!?!?… This realization was striking given how in love I am with this pigment..it’s freakin’ gorgeous isn’t it?! It really is a gold colour with an olive green undertone.

After that was decided, the rest just happened. I paired Green Gold with two other pigments – Green with Envy from Sleek, and Jungle Fever from Essence.

Green with Envy is a beautiful light green with a yellow undertone…so to me it made a lot of sense to combine it with Green Gold. Finally, to darken the look I added the dark olive green colour art pigment Jungle Fever from Essence.

Of course, such a dark look required falsies, and I used my current favourites from Eye Candy. So what do you think?

As you can see, I am still practicing with my beloved liquid liner…I am starting to get why one sometimes HAS TO use it, but I am not fully convinced yet hahaha

If you are curious, this is the full list of products I used to achieve this look:

  • Essence I love stage e/s base
  • NYX JEP Milk (thin thin layer as a base for the pigments)
  • Sleek eye dust Green with Envy
  • Barry M dazzle dust Green Gold (!!!Editorial note!!! if you have this pigment, try to pat it on the lid, instead of swiping it or blending it, because it tends to become black at the spots where you swipe with the brush…don’t ask me why though, no clue)
  • Essence colour art pigment #21 Jungle Fever
  • MUG e/s Frappe
  • MUG e/s Beaches and Cream
  • Makeup Studio liquid liner (black)
  • Max Factor black kohl pencil
  • Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara
  • Eye Candy false lashes #003

What do you think about this look? Do the colours blend well together?

Let me know in the comments 🙂
