Red Riding Hood….and those red red lips

Hi guys,

I have a somewhat different post today which hopefully you will enjoy. I certainly had fun creating it 🙂 It’s not just my usual eye makeup but sort of a full styling attempt :).

The inspiration came from my friend, and pro MUA, Malou, who suggested I try some dark lips…so I did. My lipstick collection doesn’t really contain true dark colours but it does have some gorgeous red shades.

Some time ago, I ordered an adventure pack with 10 NYX Round Lipsticks from rockthecatwalk – basically the lovely people at the online store picked 10 shades for me (I could give them an idea what I wanted) and I had no clue what to expect.

Overall, the lipsticks turned out to be really pigmented and creamy, especially the matte ones. I instantly fell in love with one of them though, a red beauty named Hero…

Naturally, with a lipstick like this, one has to remain a bit on the neutral side with the eye makeup. All I can say is, I tried!!! 😛

To make it even more fun, I used as a prop another favourite of mine – a red beret I got from Accessorize several years ago.

And that’s how the complete look turned out:

Cold :)

Hello again!

For this makeup look, I remain on the blue wave. This time, however, it’s cold…so cold brrr. To match the weather outside, of course 🙂

I paired a light blue e/s with a graphite e/s but somehow the light blue came out as pale silver on the photos. But, I assure you, in reality it is blue :).

In the end, I lined the lower lash line with one of my favourite Essence long-lasting eye pencils, Have a Green.

Insomniac: a look with MUG pigment Insomnia

Hello!

I haven’t been sleeping all that well the last week, so I think the name of the makeup look in this post perfectly correlates with my current state: Insomniac.

Insomnia is one of my new MUG pigments, a split personality, duo chrome blue-brown beauty who couldn’t wait to get out of the jar and stun the world with her undecidedness. The question certainly isn’t whether She will succeed, but shall I? For capturing the two faces of this pigment on camera, on a lousy cloudy day…let me tell you, not an easy task!

I used Essence’s gel liner Miami’s ink as base for Insomnia and did sort of a smokey eye:
