Romantic warm bronzed-salmon look :)

Bronzed salmon sounds fantastic, doesn’t it?!

More so because I love salmon and immediately start salivating at the mere thought of it 😛 The best way to eat it in my opinion: raw either in a fresh salad, or stuffed in a delicious sushi roll… yuuuum. Salmon is so awesome, that its colour has even gained a status of its own. I mean, noone ever says that this or that has a trout colour…but they do refer to the colour of that shirt as salmon.

Salmon has an orange-peach sort of colour with a pink undertone and it pairs beautifully with bronze and brown hues for a more warm look. It seems like lately I have been posting mainly “cool-toned” makeup looks, so some variation was necessary 🙂 I came up with this look:

I used a real mash of brands for it, and managed to add my new p2 lipstick to the picture (the dark purple one, Madison Square, which I talked about here).

On the inner half of the lid, I used Essence Wow it’s orange pigment and MUG e/s Mango Tango. Then I added MUG pigment Blitz to the rest of the lid and intensified the crease with MUG e/s Bada Bing.

On the lower lash line, I used Bourjois color edition Prune Nocturne, which I set with Art Deco e/s #95.

To add a bit of glamour, I sprinkled the lid with Inglot body sparkle #65.

Dark lips are starting to really grow on me. I am even willing to try darker shades now!

All in all, a bit toned down this warm bronzed-salmon look is perfect for everyday wear and allows the use of a nice dark lipstick (which a lot of my other mega colourful looks would not). What do you think?

Red Riding Hood….and those red red lips

Hi guys,

I have a somewhat different post today which hopefully you will enjoy. I certainly had fun creating it 🙂 It’s not just my usual eye makeup but sort of a full styling attempt :).

The inspiration came from my friend, and pro MUA, Malou, who suggested I try some dark lips…so I did. My lipstick collection doesn’t really contain true dark colours but it does have some gorgeous red shades.

Some time ago, I ordered an adventure pack with 10 NYX Round Lipsticks from rockthecatwalk – basically the lovely people at the online store picked 10 shades for me (I could give them an idea what I wanted) and I had no clue what to expect.

Overall, the lipsticks turned out to be really pigmented and creamy, especially the matte ones. I instantly fell in love with one of them though, a red beauty named Hero…

Naturally, with a lipstick like this, one has to remain a bit on the neutral side with the eye makeup. All I can say is, I tried!!! 😛

To make it even more fun, I used as a prop another favourite of mine – a red beret I got from Accessorize several years ago.

And that’s how the complete look turned out:

Makeup ideas with MUG pigments Liquid Gold, Blitz and New Year’s Eve

Hello fellow makeup junkies!

I had two looks stashed in the folder of my computer for which I used similar, if not the same products, with the only difference being their placement. So, I figured a combined post on them would be most appropriate 🙂

The stars of the tonight’s show are three MUG pigments: Liquid Gold, Blitz and New Year’s Eve. I have already written about them more extensively here, no need to go into details again then ;).

Instead, let me just show you how I used them because that always says a lot more than a swatch.

Look #1 is a bit more classic: dark on the lid (Blitz), highlight in the inner corner (NY’s Eve) and a pop of gold on the lower lash line (Liquid Gold):

For look #2, my idea was to really have NY’s Eve take centre stage, stand out for everyone to appreciate its beauty…hence the placement was rearranged:

For the rest, the products I used are not much of a mystery. I winged a liner with the Essence eyeliner pen/Max Factor black kohl pencil, used the Max Factor Wild Mega Volume volumising mascara, and as usual primed my lids (can I say that? prime my lids?!) with the Essence Iove stage e/s base.

Which look do you like more? And, of course, why? I would love to hear your opinion ladies! 🙂
