Teal and Blue look with Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette

Hello dear people!

I would like to start this blog post off topic by telling you that today I fell in love…(imagine hearts floating in my brain, deep sighs, and even more sighs)…Not with my husband, or the cat. I have been in love with them for a while now so that wouldn’t really qualify as news.

I saw a review on youtube of the new Urban Decay Vice 2 palette – my heartbeat increased, my pupils dilated and my hands started itching really badly to reach for my credit card. Then I remembered that UD is a bit off limits these days: no Sephora, no international shipping from UD website itself…Given how fast I went from seeing the palette to wanting it, I consider that a positive thing. If you want to see how insanely awesome the Vice 2 palette is, click here.

Don’t blame me, if your hands start itching too! Blame Urban Decay and their gorgeous products 😛

But back to mu own makeup…

Today was blue…not that I was feeling blue, but it just so happened that I used a lot of blue-coloured products.  Also, I again used the Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette. I am surprised how much I like it, an unexpected turn of events 🙂

There is a really pretty teal-blue e/s in this palette and I still had not given it a try. Until today…

I combined the teal on the lid with the dark blue e/s on the lower lash line and sprinkled some glitter there too. Just a little bit, for a pop of sparkle 🙂

Gems of the forest (a.k.a more crazy stuff)

Hello people!

Playing with makeup may take you all sorts of ways you have never imagined…and inspiration can be found everywhere. A leaf, your cat, the sky, TV…and of course fellow makeup enthusiasts, can all prove to be valuable sources for new makeup creations.

Today’s crazy makeup was inspired by a look I saw a long time ago in the MakeupGeek idea gallery (curious? => click). It was made by one of my favourite youtubers, Katosu. She is Polish and I love ALL of her makeup looks (I am starting to think Polish women mush have a special gene for makeup in their genomes, because they all seem to be really good at it! “sigh”) You may well wonder how her channel can be among my preferred choices, since her videos, as extensive as they are, are always in Polish :/. Unfortunately, I hardly understand a word she says…but that doesn’t mean I can’t watch what she does, and learn :).

The idea I had today was to combine the green and the purple e/s from the Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette…using the look I saw from her as an inspiration. Of course, my vague attempts cannot compare to her masterpiece but that was also not the idea. I just took it as a basis 🙂

I named the look “Gems of the Forest” because of the purple glitter and the green e/s:

Yellow-Orange-Purple look with Essence and Sleek

Good day to you all!

Here the sun is shining and autumn feels pleasant…and the colour of the day is orange. I am not picking colours for makeup deliberately each day…it just happens so that the accents of this lovely Friday are centered around orange.

If you are curious, how it goes is that I sit in front of my makeup stash (let me know if you’d like me to show you that btw! use the comments section :)), I stare at all the pretty colours and get inspired. Sometimes, I start, get some colours on the lid and only after decide how to proceed. Other times, I know what I would like to achieve from A to Z.

Going back to my Essence pigments, today I decided it was time for WOW it’s orange! to see the world.  WOW it’s orange! is a matte, bright pinkish-orange colour. I wouldn’t say it’s orange orange but I find it an interesting shade.

It seemed like it would combine really nicely with yellow and purple, so the look turned out quite colourful in the end, but I really enjoyed the result:
